Residential Dryer Vent Cleaning

Duraclean has been specializing in cleaning and restoration services for over 90 years. We are an IICRC certified firm in all aspects of cleaning and restoration and are considered one of the most educated and experienced companies.

After a complete inspection of the dryer vent, our professionally trained technicians will determine the proper cleaning procedure for your specific needs.

Why You Should Get Your Dryer Vent Cleaned

1. Fire Prevention – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that clothes dryers are associated with approximately 15,600 fires yearly.

2. Energy Savings – We all want our appliances to work as efficiently as possible. A clogged dryer vent could mean your clothes will need multiple cycles before drying correctly or will need to run longer. This means higher energy bills due to extra run time.

3. Cost Savings – Longer life of the dryer and lower maintenance bills when running at peak efficiency.

When does my vent need to be cleaned?

  • Drying times that surpass 40 minutes
  • Clothes that are abnormally hot to the touch after drying
  • Burning smell while the drying is running
  • Your vent hood flap does not open during a dryer’s operation
  • Condensation around the dryer vent or surrounding area
  • It has been a year since your last dryer vent cleaning

Post Cleaning Tips

To lengthen the benefits of your dryer vent cleaning, follow these quick and easy tips:

1. Regularly remove lint from your dryer vent’s lint trap. It is recommended that you do this after every load

2. Make sure your dryer vent is up to code: if your vent pipe is made of foil or plastic, you’ll need to replace it with a vent rated for dryers.

3. Make sure the vent line isn’t smashed or crinkled in any place as this will interfere with the airflow. Be especially watchful that your clothes dryer is not pushed back so far that it smashes or crinkles the vent.

4. Make sure the cover/flaps at the exit are clear of clumps, rodent/bird nests, and snow

** Don’t forget to ask about the Lint Alert System that can be installed after your dryer vent cleaning! **

Lint Alert PRO PLUS

The LintAlert® enhances your home safety by monitoring the dryer exhaust system for problems. As lint naturally builds up over time, LED indicators progressively illuminate to show how efficiently your dryer is operating. When airflow restriction becomes dangerous, an alarm is triggered.
